Adoption

Thinking About Adoption?
Adoption is a big decision, and it’s normal to feel a mix of emotions. It can be rewarding, emotional, and sometimes overwhelming. At Bloom Women’s Clinic, we’re here to give you clear, honest information so you can make the choice that feels right for you.
Your Adoption Options
There are three main types of adoption, each with a different level of contact with your child and the adoptive family:
- Open Adoption – You stay in touch, which can include sharing names, photos, or visits. You decide how involved you want to be.
- Semi-Open Adoption – Some contact happens through a third party, like an adoption agency. You have some connection without sharing everything.
- Closed Adoption – No contact after placement. You remain anonymous, and the adoptive family won’t know your identity.
Are Adoption Costs Covered?
Adoption doesn’t cost you anything. In North Carolina, adoptive parents can cover expenses like:
- Medical care for pregnancy and delivery
- Living expenses during pregnancy and postpartum
- Counseling and support
- Legal and agency fees
This helps you focus on your health and well-being during the process.
